Every time I get out of Camden Town Station, I am met with this exhilarating feeling of ‘something new to see’. I never get bored of Camden and it being one of London’s many jewels, is not just a tourist spot but a thriving community bound with history.
Having a multitude of shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, theatres and cinemas, the enormous market attracts all types of people from around the globe. What absolutely fascinates me about the area is how much my senses are always stimulated. Intense smells and tastes from the multinational street food options and the visual array of items being sold (ranging from antique suit cases to techno dance gear and original Beatles vinyls). This place is just brilliant.
If you ever find yourself in London with a free afternoon, visit Camden and its surrounding markets which include Camden Lock Market, Camden Stables Market, Camden (Buck Street) Market, Camden Lock Village and Inverness Street Market (all within walking distance from each other).
Just hop on the London Underground and take the north-bound train on the Northern Line and get off at Camden Town Station and allow your self to explore this vibrant area.
Be sure to try and get lost within the crowds and experience a side of London you might not have even thought existed.
