After the wonderful opening of the new lobby at the Mercure hotel, check out the video we shot right here, I was invited to spend the night. The hotel is located just outside the center, so it’s perfect if you want to get out of the hustle and bustle of an energetic city like Amsterdam while you’re there. Beautifully located by the river and near venues and concerthalls as well as the business center, it’s easy to reach via public transport and from the highway.
The hotel lobby looked sleek with a modern touch and I have to say it was great to be greeted by a nice bottle of red wine and delicious syrup waffles when I walked into my room. Perks of the job, I guess. Aside from that, the room was very cosy and comfortable with a small bathroom attached. No bathtub but a glass enclosed shower with a rain showerhead (my favorite). The hotel also offers their guests access to a free fitness area with sauna and steam room, sadly I couldn’t enjoy that while I was there but it’s still a plus in my eyes.
I awoke the next day with sunshine on my face and an amazing breakfast spread downstairs. From boiled to scrambled eggs with bacon, fresh fruit and salad, cereal and muesli with yoghurt and different kinds of juices. Take your pick!
The Accor hotel in Amsterdam is great for business trips or just a quiet weekend away alone or with your loved ones. The chef, Rinze Muizelaar, also welcomes you to have a bite for lunch or dinner at their restaurant. I can’t speak for the food but the prosecco I had at the FLOOR lounge was delightful.
Until next time, Amsterdam, you were fantastic.
