You can’t deny it, a good hotel makes your citytrip even better. After a long day of exploring you want to relax on a very comfy bed or take a long bath. Those things don’t come cheap but are worth saving for. It makes the experience much more relaxing. nhow Rotterdam sure knows how to make sure you have a great weekend. We stayed at one of their rooms and this is our review.

This modern hotel is one of the 3 nhow hotels. They also have one in Berlin and Milano. The one in Rotterdam is located in the ‘Rotterdammer’, a new building next to their famous bridge. Which results in rooms with a great view over the city. It is designed by Rem Koolhaas in 1998. The complex is located between the KPN Tower and Rotterdam Cruise Terminal and was finalized at the end of 2013. This impressive piece of architecture was the theme for the nhow architecture hotel.

You can book three types of rooms urban, sunrise, sunset and horizon. All the rooms are furnished with a clean design, a bit cool but still cozy in a way. Every room has a great view and feels spacious thanks to the windows. There is one tip we most definitely want to share with you: make sure to put your alarm clock on, because the beds are so comfy you never want to leave/wake up. Falling asleep underneath a fluffy blanket while resting your head on three pillows (?!). Do we need to say more?

We had a small problem with the room key, you can’t put it next to your phone. Due to security reasons it will stop working! But the friendly staff at the front desk will help you in no time.  The bar, breakfast and dinner place are all on the 7th floor with an amazing view of the bridge. We only had breakfast at the hotel. It is included in the price of your room and worth the visit. They offer an international breakfast with something for every type of diet. If you want to start your day with a plate of eggs, you can ask the chef to prepare them as you please. Living a more healthy lifestyle? Well, they offer fresh fruit, wholegrain cereals and soya products. For those who want a full breakfast they serve pastries, toast, bread, cheese, sweets spreads and much more. They even have pancakes and waffles.

After your breakfast you can rent a bike for 16 euros a day. This way you can cross the bridge and enjoy the view. If you don’t feel like being sporty, buy a day pass for the metro at the front desk. The nearest station is around the corner and takes you to the city center in less than 15 minutes! You can leave your bags at a secure room in the hotel, if you are only staying for one night. Although this hotel is not located in the city center, it is still worth it. Rotterdam is quite compact, so don’t let the distance on Google Maps scare you.

To sum up our review: at nhow Rotterdam you can enjoy a good night’s rest, explore an upcoming area with restaurants, take the metro to the city center in no time and stay in an impressive building with a great view.

We sure loved our stay at NHOW Rotterdam. Some of our followers might have noticed after we tweeted/instagramed how  great the beds are.
