When it comes to soups, we usually think about it as a warm veggie bowl at home or when you’re sick. But here it is, Emily, the soup’s master of Antwerp turned it into a daily-delicious meal with her first small restaurant « Simply Emily »

Perfectly situated on the lovely Hendrik Conscienceplein, Simply Emily was created in March 2014, by the lovely and adorable Emily who’s really passionate about cuisine. She welcomes you everyday (even if it’s raining, or windy, or snowing) with a huge smile.

This restaurant serves mostly soups and quiches. The menu changes everyday and is homemade by the owner who does everything by herself. When I say everything, it goes from the cooking part to the service. Yes I know, incredible.

I’ve tried both. Soups and quiches. Both of them are d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s. And I mean it. In general I am not a big fan of soups. Since I’m in Belgium (and it’s cold) I learned to love soups and I must admit Simply Emily helped me a lot with that.

The place is pretty small but so charming. The huge windows give an amazing light to the place and you are surrounded by a lot of inspirational quotes. When you can’t have a seat close to a window, you can still find a cozy spot on the mezzanine where you can easily look at all the people while eating your fantastic soup.

The idea of serving only soups and quiches is brilliant. Perfect for lunch, easy and quick to eat, Simply Emily is my favorite spot for lunch in Antwerp.
