The Beach Playlist

As summer is officially here and I write this from the Mediterranean island of Cyprus on my two week holiday here, I wanted to share songs that could truly encapsulate the one thing I actually did surprisingly miss: the beach. So here we go and get yourself out in the sun ASAP.

DeJ Loaf feat. Wiz Khalifa- Try Me

My new obsession, DeJ Loaf, is an American artist from Detroit. You can’t help but want to move in the sun with this piece. I’m excited to see how her career proceeds in the future.

The Very Best feat. Moroka - Ndekha

African House anyone? I first heard this piece at the Vitra Design Museum in Germany last month and since then I haven’t been able to stop. There is a two and a half minute buildup and then it drops and all is good.

Ian Edgerly - Johny Leave Her

This upcoming artist has some great pieces and was one of my many happy discoveries. Best enjoyed with a cold beer and warm sand under your feet.

London Grammar - Strong (Manila Killa Remix)

I love a good remix and when it’s done with one of my all time favourite songs, we have a beach playlist winner.

Cyril Hahn - Touch My Body

We all probably remember the original by Mariah Carey, but this remix is something else. Once I heard this I was sold. Sometimes the remix is better and this is definitely one of those situations.

Paradis - Hémisphère

I’ve loved this track from the noir-pop Parisian duo. Enjoy this upbeat sound and leave all your cares behind you. Relax and enjoy.

Flume feat. Chet Faker - Left Alone

“Just a sound beating off my lungs”. This is one of the very first collaborations between Flume and Chet Faker and was set to be a taste of what great things were to come.
