The Zurich OpenAir Playlist

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend my first Zurich OpenAir festival and it was, well, pretty amazing. I unfortunately couldn’t attend all the days due to other obligations but I had the chance to see some of the most coveted bands and musicians. It was an unforgettable event and I was truly proud to see how many Brits were dominating the music scene at the festival. If there is one export we do well, it’s music. So here is my festival inspired playlist from some of the great acts I got to see.

Shamir - Call It Off

Las Vegas artist Shamir was awesome live! His energy on stage made the entire tent explode with dance. He even came into the crowd to meet his fans and was incredibly friendly (we took a picture with him as well and I just had to tell him how fun his set was).

The Kooks - Around Town

The Kooks were one of the most coveted bands to see that night, the tent filling well before the start of their set. My personal favourite is “Around Town” which they surprisingly opened with, making the crowd go crazy.

Gorgon City - Ready For Your Love

Hearing this hit played live was beautiful, mixed with the British duo’s enthusiasm to be playing in Switzerland, Gorgon City really shook the festival on it’s foundation.

Wolf Alice - Fluffy

This North London band was incredibly fun, their song “Fluffy” an addictive little piece that reminded me of the Runaways from the 70’s. Have fun.

Thomston - Caffeine

One of my favourite artists I discovered this festival, Thomston is a New Zealand artist with a real raw talent. His exchange with the audience made him instantly likeable, his set further proving this new talent has a bright future. He has two EP’s released so far, both excellent. “Caffeine” is my addiction though, so enjoy it!

Years & Years - Without

Seeing Years & Years was overwhelming. I absolutely loved Olly’s stage performance, his energy and enthusiasm were real and addictive. “Without” was a very personal part of the performance before the rest of the set ignited more dancing. So fun!

Alt-J - Nara

People went absolutely crazed when alt-J began their set (as did I of course). Hallelujah. Their performance was impeccable and the thrill of a dedicated audience made this one very memorable. “Nara” is one of my newest obsessions and a beautiful conclusion to the WNM playlist today. Hope you all have a good one!
