You know how it is on the first day in a big city that you have yet to explore. You want to see it all, but you have no idea how to start. You might get a map from somewhere, figure out where you are and then decide for one place that you want to go to first.
In my case, that’s usually the plan. Only, that the plan almost never works out. That’s not per se a bad thing, because the reason why it never works out is that most likely there will be a nice looking coffee place somewhere inbetween the place I started and the place I want to go.
So, in the end I will not go from A to B – I will go from A to Q. The Q on Harris to be exact.
And exactly how I just explained, it happened to me and my friend on our first day in Sydney. We started day one with a big jetlag and eager to explore the city when we passed this little coffee place at the corner. Of course, we walked straight in to take the first break before we even really started. In the end, the ‘break’ lasted two hours, some healthy sandwiches and a delicious coffee.
The Q on Harris is a small take-away or eat-in location where you can get little meals, sandwiches, soup and most of all: coffee! As a speciality, they mostly offer Indonesian blends, but also different other varieties depending on season and availability.
Once, you’ve made your choice, sink down on one of the wooden chairs and tables and enjoy! The staff is really friendly and you will definitely be more than welcome to stay as long as you wish. At least, that’s how we felt!
Enjoy the coffee,
