The most hectic- we mean wonderful time of the year
It’s that time of the year. You’re flooded with work, finals, last minute errands, Christmas parties for work or school, run down with a cold and somewhere in between you have to think of worthwhile gifts for those around you. You swear to yourself you love this time of year, but the days are closing in and you have little to no inspiration. [What’s more is you’d rather sniffle on the couch with a cup of hot cacao under a blanket than dredging yourself through the rain from store to store.]
What if we told you that to make things a little easier this year the WNM team put their heads together and compiled this pretty amazing Christmas shopping guide? Awesome? Yeah, we thought so too.
This bake set is the ideal gift for someone who loves to cook. It’s a classic and perfect for any oven dish. Don’t worry about cleaning because you can just pop them in the dish washer.
This webshop is straightforward and features a wealth of shopping inspiration for plant lovers. Air plants are easy to care for and look incredibly cool. Sofie selected some beautiful accessories that will make you consider keeping the gift yourself. Have a look at Phyt’s Facebook page to find out what other shops sell their products.
Hema is a great place to get gifts. You can easily find small presents or bigger ones. This brew set is quite cool if you ask us! Margot spotted it and also let us know that Hema carries a great selection of decorations for your Christmas table.
A gin box
You might have noticed that Schweppes brought out a new line of tonics which are great for mixed drinks. They even have a special website to help you pair the right tonic with your favourite gin. I would recommend visiting the IKEA paper shop to find a nice box and some wrapping paper to create a beautiful gift box featuring a set of tonics and perhaps a bottle of gin.
If you know somebody with a Kitchenaid Artisan Stand Mixer a good idea would be getting them one of the many accessories to go with it. This spirelli tool is absolutely amazing. It is such a great help in the kitchen and it will help them cut carbs by incorporating more veggie noodles in their lives. Doesn’t even feel like punishment!
Pineapple lights & more
Recently launched Wolf & Wolkje is a webshop but they also have a lovely boutique in Antwerp. It is predominantly a store for kids but a lot of their items are so cool looking that they’re also suitable for adults. A good example are these extremely cute pineapple lamps. Have a look on their site to see some of their other stuff. If you order by Friday 18/12 it might still be in time for Christmas. Going to the shop is of course a safer option if you’re on the late side.
Having coffee in style.
This coffee set by Bodum is a treat for the eyes. Who doesn’t like copper? Recently Bodum opened a giant store in Brussels. The shopping address to be if you are looking for gifts for design foodies. It is definitely one of our favourites at WNM.
More of an investment
Buying a Kitchenaid really is something special. If you and your family want to buy a gift together for somebody who loves to cook, I recommend getting them a Kitchenaid. Their latest addition to the family is the Cook Processor which makes work in the kitchen so much easier. If you want to treat someone who loves blending I would direct you to the Artisan Magnetic Blender. This machine can handle everything from a frozen cocktail to dips, smoothies, soups etc. A great way to start the year with healthy juices.
